Medical Marijuana Benefits For HIV Patients

HIV, or human immunodeficiency virus, is spreadable through bodily fluids and attacks the immune system’s “T cells.” Through progressive damage, immune system’s are weakened making it more susceptible to infections and diseases. If left untreated, HIV can progress into AIDS, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, and is more vulnerable to common diseases that can be fatal. Side effects of AIDS and HIV treatments can drastically diminish one’s quality of life. Cannabis for AIDS patients has been a popular treatment for chronic neuropathic pain related to HIV.
